IMU CET - syllabus, eligibility criteria and cutoff

IMU CET is an entrance exam conduct by Indian Maritime University. Students who are interested in Merchant navy field participate in  IMU CET exam to get admission in different Indian Maritime University. IMU provides different undergraduate, post graduate and research courses for students , like Bsc , DNS and B.Tech . CET is a national level exam conducted twice a year.

In difficulty level; IMU CET exam is quite easy as compared to JEE mains . Previous year around 25000 students applied for 966 seats of 6 India Maritime Universities. Also remaining students get chance to get admission in IMU affiliated universities .

IMU CET eligibility criteria

 

Students who are interested to apply for IMU CET exam must look at the eligibility criteria for IMU CET 2020. Eligibility criteria varies for course to course.

 

  • Candidates applying for engineering (lateral also)/B.Sc/Diploma/ courses must have studied and passed examination in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at plus two level with minimum 60% in aggregate. They would even be required to score minimum of fifty percentage marks in English at plus two level.
  • Candidate must have applied for passport before taking admission through CET.
  • Minimum age of candidate should be 17 years and Maximum age shouldn't exceed 25 years. Both the ages that's maximum and minimum would be counted as on August 2020.
  • Candidates applying in marine courses would be required to take the medical fitness certified by Doctors approved by Director General of Shipping.

 

Age Limit


Candidates’ age should be in between 17 years to 25 Years. Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC) & Schedule Tribe (ST) category will get relaxation of 5 years.

IMU CET 2020 Exam Pattern

  • The exams are going to be held in online mode where MCQ type questions are asked.
  • Exam will be of 120 marks. For each correct answer candidates will be awarded with 1 marks and there is no negative marking.
  • The exam tests candidate aspiring for B.Tech and M.Tech program for his or her knowledge in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, GK, and aptitude.
  • Candidates aspiring for MBA admissions are tested for his or her proficiency in Quantitative, verbal, Data interpretation, and logical reasoning abilities.
